Trichur Round is the local name for the hill in the center of the city of Thrissur (in Kerala, south India) on which the Vadakkunnathan Temple to Shiva is built. This temple dominates the local landscape.

It encircles the Thekkinkadu maidan(തേക്കിൻ‌കാട് മൈതാനം) and is also known as Swaraj Round.

Thrissur is Kerala’s capital city of culture. Tucked away from the sea, Thrissur is situated in central Kerala. Thrissur is actually built around the hill (locally called Round) on which this temple to Shiva, (the Vadakkunnathan Temple) is located.

The sprawling Thekkinkadu maidan, encircling the Vadakumnathan temple, is the main venue of the Thrissur Pooram festival.

Localy, all distances and directions are calculated from the Round, the hill atop which is the Vadakkunnathan Temple.
