Samkarshana is an Hindu deity, and the second of the four forms of Purushottama.

The name Smakarshana means "extraction", refering to the legend of his creation, according to which he was extracted from the womb of Devaki into the the womb of Rohini. The transfer was operated by the Yoga Maya power of the Lord. It was made necessary because the maternal uncle Kamsa had killed six children of Devaki already, due to a prophecy according to which the eight male child of Devaki was supposed to kill him.

Samkarshana is also identified with Balarama.
