Chotta rajan or Chhota Rajan was a key aide and lieutenant of Dawood Ibrahim.rajan operated at the behest of dawood in mumbai.he is wanted for many criminal cases that include extortion,murder,smuggling.today chotta rajan and dawood ibrahim are believed to be the most powerful underworld dons of Indian mafia.

Due to some differences in money he fell out with dawood.many say religion also was a difference between the two.(rajan is a hindu and dawood is a muslim.)the break up between rajan and ibrahim must have taken place between 1991-1993.some also say that the bombay bombings was an incident which sparked off the split.ever since the split,rajan has formed his own gang.both rajan and dawood's gang kill each other
