Chandraseniya Kayastha Prabhu is the name of a community found in certain parts of Maharashtra in India. They are said to be one of the designated brave helpers of Maharashtra as proclaimed by Shivaji in his famous "Mala Ek Swapna Ahe" speech. Their origins are clearly known to be in some of the most urban places in India including Mumbai, Nagpur, Pune and Bhiwandi. Several forts controlled by these rightful judicious people have been discovered.

Today they still exist and known to be on of the most charitable communities residing within India, rising up to every call in the world. They have significantly donated lots of money to medical aid causes like Hurricane Katrina, The California Fires, and even the Tsunami that hit India. They are very charitable and are spread out around the world.

They have modernized themselves beyond belief compared to some backward societies in India. Just believers against the caste system, they have helped fight the social wall introduced by the Aryans in India some 2000 years ago.
