Bhavnagar is a peninsual district of Western Gujarat. Bhavnagar city is the administrative headquarters of the district. It has population of over 20 lakhs and an area of over 9940 km². There are close to 800 villages in this district.

Bhavnagar borders with Ahmedabad and Surendranagar districts to the North, the Gulf of Cambay to the East and South and Amreli and Rajkot districts to the West.

  • Palitana - Major pilgrimage place for Jains.
  • Sihor - Is a beautiful place with many pilgrimage places surrounded by mountains. Sihor used to be the capital of Bhavnagar state. It is also called as "Chota kashi" since it is having many shiva temples. Namely as 1. Shri Rajnath 2. Shri Sukhnath 3. Shri Ramnath 4. Shri Bhavnath 5. Shri Jodnath 6. Shri Kaamnath 7. Shri Dhaarnath 8. Shri Bhootnath 9. Shri Bheemnath. Brahma Kund is a sacred tank having about 100 sculptured idols of Hindu deities. It is



    believed to be built between the 11th and 12th centuries by Raja Sidharaj. Sihori mata temple is also a place of interest for most of the visitors.
