Bharata (Ramayana) is the son of Kaikeyi and Dasaratha, and the youngest brother of Rama. He rules Ayodhya while Rama is in exile.
Emperor Bharata is the first man to conquer all of the known world, which is named Bharatavarsha in his honor. His conquess covered modern India, Nepal, Bangladesh, Pakistan and major parts of Afghanistan. He is theorized to have been the son of Dushyanta and Shakuntala, or Lord Rishabha.
Bharata Muni was the author of the Natyashastra, the most important work on the dramatic theory in the ancient Indian language of Sanskrit.
