Atikay was the son of Lord of Lanka, Ravana and Queen Dhanyamalini, who was the second wife of Ravana. Atikay was the younger brother of Indrajit and was extremely powerful. He had learned all the secrets of archery and gained divine weapons through Lord Shiva when he caught the Trisul of Lord Shiva in anger at Mount Kailash.

Due to his extraordinary skills and superiority, he was killed by Lakshmana through the Brahmastra, the supreme arrow of Lord Brahma. This secret was revelead to Lakshmana by the God of Wind, Vayu due to

the persuasion of Lord Indra, since the invincible armour of Lord Brahma was granted to Atikay. And the only way to destroy this armour was to use Brahmastra.
